Apply First Aid

On successful completion of this training program, participants will have acquired the skills and knowledge to provide first aid response, life support, management of casualty(s), the incident and other first aiders, until the arrival of medical or other assistance.

This nationally recognised training program provides participants with the unit of competency required to achieve a Statement of Attainment which forms part of HLT21107 Certificate II in Emergency Medical Service First Response

  • HLTFA201A Provide basic emergency life support

Advanced First Aid

On successful completion of this unit the participant will be able to deal with the provision of advanced first aid response, life support, management of casualty(s), the incident and other first aiders, until the arrival of medical or other assistance, and provision of support to other providers. (This unit builds on HLTFA301B: Apply first aid to include additional skills and use of a range of equipment)

Topics covered in this program are:

  • Assess the situation
  • Manage the casualty(s)
  • Coordinate first aid activities until arrival of medical assistance
  • Communicate essential incident details
  • Evaluate the incident

This nationally recognised training program provides participants with the unit of competency required to achieve a Statement of Attainment which forms part of RII30709 Certificate III in Mine Emergency Response and Rescue.
