BMA Defensive Driving
Sharp training is an approved provider for the BMA Defensive Driver Training Program. It is a requirement that all persons who are currently operating, or intend to operate a Light Vehicle on a BMA site must complete this program. The program is delivered utilising theory and a practical component. The practical driving component includes a braking, cornering and swerving exercise.
Topics covered in this program include:
- hazard avoidance
- driver fatigue
- road law knowledge
- ABS braking
- vision techniques
- observation
- vehicle control
- vehicle maintenance inspection
- site driving rules
Important Note: Issuing RIIVEH201A Operate Light Vehicle
Sharp Training has approval from BMA to modify the program to meet partial outcomes of RIIVEH201A Conduct Light Vehicle Operations with the view of issuing a statement of attainment to those candidates who successfully complete the program, and can supply a current site licence or current mobile plant authorisation.
Upon successful completion the participant will be issued with a "Certificate of Attendance" for the BMA Defensive Driving.
For students that supply site evidence such as a current site licence or current mobile plant authorisation, they will be issue also be issued the additional RIIVEH201A Conduct Light Vehicle Operations.
RIIVEH201A Conduct Light Vehicle Operations is a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment which forms part of RII20209 Certificate II in Surface Extraction Operations.
